Kickass thaws it all out

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says there are things that happen infrequently in life that tend to focus your attention—some good things and some bad things; and in the keeper’s case one of those bad things resulted from the storm a week or so ago that knocked out an electrical circuit in his garage where his freezer got its energy

The keeper did not notice this until everything in the freezer had thawed beyond recovery and was on the verge of producing corpse flower indications.  To accurately report the keeper’s initial reaction serves no useful purpose and only adds to his reputation as a short hitter from a vocabulary standpoint.

Spending the shank of Sunday afternoon dealing with the “thawed” problem overwhelmed the keeper with self pity to the point that he went to bed very early, and if there had been anyone around to hear him he probably would have cried.

  1. That happened to use one early winter while living at Lake Tahoe. The power went out from a storm and the freezer that was in the house thawed. We took out the contents and put them in a cooler on the back deck. A bear that hadn’t yet gone into hibernation ate them one night. Can’t win. Discovered, though, some interesting looking hot dogs in the bottom of the freezer. Bear ate them too.
