Kickass and civility

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Kickass, the doorstop dog, is somewhat puzzled with the current attention on civility, defined by the dictionary as “formal politeness and courtesy in behavior or speech,” something foreign to the canine world.  With dogs, doing what comes naturally is the rule, that and getting along with other pack members, even including those that do not pass the sniff test.

So, say the pack has learned that chasing cars does not make any sense and so it is more or less done away with; but then a renegade pack member convinces a few others that chasing cars adds immeasurably to life and it is the thing to do, even though the end result is likely to be a lot of serious injuries and road-kills.

Eventually, if the pack includes a keeper who knows a veterinarian, the renegade pack member will be neutered and that will be the end of car chasing, as well as the reemergence of civility.
