Kickass helps the keeper with winter

Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in celebrating the first snow cover of the year, noting that neither canines nor humans go in for seasonal migration, an obvious evolutionary oversight mitigated somewhat by the ability to take long winter naps.  This napping is not exactly hibernation, but rather an adjustment to the fact that it is damn cold outside and nice and warm inside, particularly if the fireplace is glowing and there is some special one within reach to touch and make toasts with.

So the keeper’s “special one” is forgoing a nice sunny  Arizona 80 degree “winter” to join him in Wisconsin as he gets immersed in promoting his “Margaret’s War” novel to be published Dec. 1.  Just what went into Phyllis’s decision is as mysterious as January robins in Duluth.  But the keeper is not into the minutiae of her decision; he is simply waiting impatiently to touch and toast and has a sense that it is going to be one helluva winter.

Let it snow!  Let it snow! Let it snow!
